Getting Started/Schedule

The Davis Dyslexia Correction® program is a four part process:

  1. The Assessment:
This is the first step in the process, and it is to determine if you or your child (the client) is a suitable candidate for the Davis programs. Because the programs are suitable for ages 8 to adult this needs to be done. At this point we try to determine what the client's goals and problems might be and if they want a solution. It takes approximately 1½ - 2 hours, and an appointment is set up at the office in Ottawa.

  2. The Program: This is an intensive, one-on-one 30 hours of counseling and takes place over 5 days, 6 hours per day. It is normally conducted from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m in Ottawa. There are frequent breaks during the day. The client leaves the office for a lunch hour about 12:00 p.m. for a much deserved break, which helps internalize what has been learned in the morning session. Each program is specifically tailored to meet the client’s needs. And all materials are provided in a client kit.

  3. Support Training: On the last day of the program in the afternoon, support training is give to parents or others involved with the client’s follow-up work with Symbol Mastery. The client will receive materials needed to complete and fulfill their goals.

  4. After the Program: OVERCOMING DYSLEXIA will provide unlimited follow-up phone calls, consultations, and up to 6 hours of review if needed as part of a program.

The initial program is just the beginning. Many changes are evident by the end of the week however, the changes and success will continue as the follow-up is completed.
